Lahore – April 4, 2025:
The intensity of heat is on the rise in Lahore, with the temperature expected to reach 40°C in the coming week, according to the latest update from the Pakistan Meteorological Department. As of today, the maximum temperature in Lahore has been recorded at 34°C, while the current temperature stands at 31°C.

Meteorologists have warned that a heatwave is expected to intensify starting Sunday, with no forecast of rain in the coming days. The continued prevalence of continental air over most parts of the country is contributing to hot and dry weather conditions.

Weather experts are urging citizens, especially the elderly and children, to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun, and take other necessary precautions to protect themselves from heat-related illnesses.

Most regions in Sindh and South Punjab are forecasted to experience temperatures 2 to 4°C above normal over the next two to three days. On Friday and Saturday, hot and dry weather is expected to dominate across much of the country.

In the past 24 hours, the weather remained mostly dry throughout Pakistan, though light rain and drizzle were reported at isolated locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Pothohar region. Notable rainfall measurements include:

  • Dir Upper: 6mm
  • Cherat: 5mm
  • Malam Jabba: 3mm
  • Kalam: 2mm
  • Astore: 1mm

The hottest locations recorded yesterday include:

  • Mithi: 45°C
  • Shaheed Benazirabad: 44°C
  • Tando Jam & Chhor: 43°C

The Meteorological Department continues to monitor the situation closely and advises residents to stay updated with official forecasts and advisories.
