PM Shehbaz Sharif promises greater support for athletes while giving football player Muhammad Riaz Rs. 2.5 million

National football player Mohammad Riaz who recently made headlines after a video went viral showing him selling jalebis on the streets to support his family has received a helping hand from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a touching and symbolic gesture. Many people are hailing the meeting between Riaz and the Prime Minister at the PM House as a watershed in Pakistan’s efforts to identify and encourage underrepresented athletes.

A Nation Was Touched by a Viral Story

A lack of institutional support for sportsmen, especially football players during the downfall of departmental sports structures in Pakistan caused Mohammad Riaz formerly a bright figure in the country’s football scene to fall on hard times. His widely shared tale attracted public attention and served as a metaphor for the wider disregard experienced by national athletes who competing internationally struggle to make ends meet.

PM Shehbaz Sharif promptly took note of the matter and asked Riaz to meet with him in person at Prime Minister House. The Prime Minister promised Riaz a job placement in a government department of his choosing during the meeting and gave him a cheque for Rs. 2.5 million as urgent cash help.

PM’s Dedication to Youth and Sports

“You are the country’s talented player, and we will not let your talent go to waste,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, praising Riaz for his tenacity and resolve.

He emphasized the value of fostering young people and giving them opportunities to thrive on international stages. The Prime Minister reiterated his administration’s dedication to bringing departmental sports back to life which was once a vital source of jobs and financial security for Pakistani athletes of all disciplines.

Bringing Departmental Football Back

The Prime Minister’s determination to revive and grow departmental football which formerly provided regular employment and financial stability to football players in a variety of public and private institutions, was emphasized throughout the discussion. In order to improve sports governance integrate young people into constructive endeavors and provide employment prospects for national athletes based on their qualifications and merit PM Shehbaz sent orders to the appropriate ministries and departments.

He demanded an immediate plan to support grassroots sports promotion and ensure the long term well being and employment of Pakistani athletes on both national and international stages.

Riaz’s Appreciation and Future Prospects

Mohammad Riaz was overwhelmed by the Prime Minister’s kindness and assistance and he thanked PM Shehbaz Sharif for acknowledging his predicament and providing a lifeline not just for himself but also for hundreds of other athletes who are struggling around the country. In addition to urging the government to enact more extensive changes that would shield future players from similar struggles he expressed hope that this move would usher in a new age of institutional support for Pakistani football.

In conclusion

In addition to providing aid to a worthy athlete, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s prompt action also marks a broader change in policy intended to revitalize Pakistan’s sports infrastructure. A positive step toward a more welcoming and encouraging athletic environment is the government’s heightened emphasis on the welfare of national players, particularly in underfunded sports like football.
