Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has received a personal invitation to attend the inauguration ceremony of US President-elect Donald Trump, scheduled for January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C., according to well-placed sources. In addition to Bilawal, Trump has extended invitations to other global leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, to attend the ceremony, marking a significant moment on the world stage as Trump prepares to assume office for a second term.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s attendance at the inauguration follows a notable historical precedent. His father, PPP Co-chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari attended the pre-inauguration event of then-President-elect Trump in 2017. Zardari was accompanied by PPP leaders Rehman Malik (who passed away) and Sherry Rehman, further solidifying the ongoing relationship between the two political parties.
After his decisive victory in the 2024 US Presidential election, Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States at a ceremony held at the US Capitol.
