HONG KONG – Pakistan’s rising squash stars, Mahnoor Ali and Muhammad Harmas Raja, made history by clinching gold medals at the US Junior Open Squash Championship 2024, marking a significant achievement for the country.

Mahnoor Ali, an 11-year-old sensation, became the first Pakistani female to win the Girls U-13 title. She delivered a stellar performance, defeating Hong Kong’s Xyan Yin with a 3-1 victory. The match scores of 11/6, 11/5, 10/12, and 11/8 highlighted her dominance and skill. This remarkable win builds on her earlier successes, including a gold medal at the 2024 Australian Junior Open and a bronze at the 7th Borneo Junior Open 2023.

With 17 gold medals already to her name, Mahnoor has firmly established herself as a rising global star in squash.

A leading Pakistani NGO supported Mahnoor’s journey, expressing immense pride in her achievements. Officials emphasized how young talents like Mahnoor inspire others by showcasing the transformative power of opportunities, passion, and dedication for women in sports.

Adding to the celebrations, Muhammad Harmas Raja claimed victory in the Boys U-11 category, securing another gold medal for Pakistan and further enhancing the nation’s growing reputation in the sport.

The extraordinary achievements of Mahnoor and Harmas underscore the immense potential of Pakistan’s emerging athletes and reflect the increasing support for squash within the country. These victories symbolize a promising future for Pakistan on the international squash stage.
