Alice Walton, the 74-year-old heiress of Walmart founder Sam Walton, has been named the world’s wealthiest woman by Forbes. Walton’s net worth is estimated at $89.1 billion.
Previously, the title of the richest woman was held by French L’Oréal heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, who had an estimated fortune of $88.4 billion and became the world’s first female centibillionaire in June.
Despite her wealth, Walton is not the richest person in Texas, a title currently held by Elon Musk. Walton resides in Fort Worth, where she owns multiple homes and ranches.

She developed a passion for art in her youth and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity University, along with an honorary Doctor of Arts and Humane Letters from the University of Arkansas.
Walton is the founder of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Alice L. Walton Foundation. She has also established the Heartland Whole Health Institute, the School of Art at the University of Arkansas, the Art Bridges Foundation, and the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine.
