The Egyptian government has unveiled new immigration policies designed to enhance tourism and attract more visitors.

A notable change is the introduction of a 96-hour free transit visa, now available at all Egyptian airports. Previously restricted to EgyptAir passengers, this visa is now accessible through other local airlines and will be in effect until April 2025.

Additionally, travelers arriving at Luxor-Aswan International Airport on Egyptian airline flights during the summer months are eligible for a free emergency entry visa. This offer applies to nationals from countries that permit emergency visa entry.

The list of countries eligible for the emergency entry visa has been expanded to include South Africa, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan. These countries are also now part of Egypt’s electronic visa portal (E-visa), broadening visa-free access, as reported by Egypt Independent.

These new measures are part of Egypt’s broader strategy to stimulate its economy by enhancing its appeal as a tourist destination.

Egypt is renowned for its spectacular attractions, including the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, which are iconic symbols of ancient civilization. The Valley of the Kings in Luxor offers a deep dive into Egypt’s rich history with its elaborate tombs, while the temples of Karnak and Abu Simbel showcase magnificent ancient architecture. Cairo’s Egyptian Museum boasts a vast collection of artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamun, and the Red Sea resorts of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada offer beautiful beaches and vibrant marine life.
