Osman Peerzada Joins Public Outcry Over Skyrocketing Electricity Bills. Pakistani citizens are grappling with the devastating impact of soaring electricity bills, which have left many struggling to pay their dues, with some facing bills higher than their house rents. Joining the public outcry, senior actor and director Osman Peerzada has expressed his deep concern about the situation.

In a recent interview, Peerzada was asked about the increasing electricity bills. He responded with a sense of alarm, stating, “These bills are terrifying. I don’t know what the future holds. Maybe I won’t be able to pay them.” He even contemplated, “It’s possible that I might have to cut off my electricity.”

The surge in inflation and electricity costs has significantly impacted the general public, including the artistic community. Last week, presidential award-winning actor Rashid Mahmood, disheartened by his electricity bill exceeding Rs45,000, expressed his despair, exacerbated by his health issues, including four heart attacks and a stroke.

Peerzada voiced his concern for those less financially stable, pondering how they would survive the extreme heat without electricity. He mentioned that while some are turning to solar panels, the changing technology and imposed taxes have left people in a state of panic.

“My bill is so outrageous that I don’t know what to do,” Peerzada lamented. “We have an air conditioner at home, and my wife, my son, and my daughter all sleep in one room to cope with the costs,” he revealed.

Renowned film star Nisho Begum also shared her frustration, revealing her electricity bill had reached an astonishing Rs100,000.

The rising electricity bills have become a widespread issue, sparking concerns and protests across the nation as citizens and celebrities alike struggle to cope with the financial burden.
