In a rare breach of security in Oman, four Pakistanis were killed near a mosque in the capital city of Muscat. The Omani police reported the incident on Tuesday, stating that the shooting occurred in the Al-Wadi Al-Kabir area. Several other individuals were also injured and are receiving treatment in local hospitals.

The Royal Oman Police responded swiftly to the incident and are conducting an investigation. They have implemented comprehensive security measures to handle the situation and are collecting evidence to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman, Imran Chaudhry, confirmed the deaths and mentioned that two of the deceased were Pakistani nationals. He assured that the Omani authorities are thoroughly investigating the matter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan reported that 30 other Pakistanis were injured in the attack. The embassy stated that a terrorist attack took place in Wadi Kabir Muscat by unknown assailants on July 15. The area has been cordoned off, and drone surveillance is being conducted. The operation by Omani authorities commenced at 2:30 AM Muscat time following the evacuation of the area.

In response to the attack, the government has declared a high alert and emergency status at the state level. Some of the injured have been transferred to nearby hospitals. The Embassy of Pakistan in Oman has established an Emergency Response Centre and teams to stay in contact with patients and their families.

Ambassador Ali of Pakistan in Oman has visited the hospitals to meet with the affected Pakistani families and ensure they receive the necessary support. The incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about security in one of the most stable countries in the Middle East.
