Today marks the beginning of the three-day “Family Mango Festival and Exhibition” at the Pakistan Maritime Museum in Karachi. This event, a vibrant celebration of mangoes and their significance in Pakistani culture, is organized by Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam in collaboration with the Pakistan Maritime Museum, TCN Executive Forum, and various institutions and farms.

The festival is a diverse showcase featuring a poster presentation on mangoes and a panel discussion that brings together experts to share insights on sustainable mango farming practices. Attendees can look forward to a comprehensive technical session aimed at promoting and educating on sustainable agriculture methods.

A variety of stalls are set up throughout the festival grounds, offering something for everyone. These include:

  • Mango By-Products: Stalls displaying an array of products derived from mangoes, highlighting the versatility of this beloved fruit.
  • Experimental and Demonstration Stalls: Interactive spaces where visitors can learn about mango grafting techniques and other innovative agricultural practices.
  • Organic Products: Showcasing organic mangoes and other organic products, promoting health and sustainability.
  • Cultural Items from Sindh: Featuring traditional items, particularly from Thar, allowing visitors to explore and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of the region.

This festival not only celebrates the king of fruits but also serves as an educational platform, promoting sustainable farming and offering insights into the agricultural advancements in mango cultivation. The collaboration between educational institutions and cultural entities ensures a well-rounded experience, making it a must-visit event for mango enthusiasts and those interested in sustainable agriculture.
