The T20 three-match-series with Ireland is scheduled to begin on Friday while Mohammed Amir is still waiting on his visa. The splendid speedster is potentially looking to make a comeback ever since he revoked his retirement. The 32-year-old thrived at the recent Pak-New Zealand T20 series in Pakistan. However, he is yet to outshine all with his exceptional skills.

Unfortunately, the upcoming Ireland series are at stake for the player besides being selected in the18-member squad. Pakistan Cricket Board is exerting all the pressure they can to secure his visa; PCB highlighted how future bilateral trips could be disrupted if the entry is denied to the player. They emphasized on how visa approval of all participants is the sole responsibility of the host board. Hence, PCB has taken this visa issuance very seriously. A PCB spokesperson has stated, “We are in regular contact with the Cricket Ireland officials over the matter and they have told us that Amir’s visa is still in process”

This series with Ireland is scheduled to end on May 14. After this, from May 22-30th, T20 matches with England are scheduled. The team is organized to travel directly to Leeds for their matched with England and this itinerary further complicates Mohammed Amir’s situation. PCB has therefore planned to fly him out individually, directly to Leeds if the visa does not come through.

Meanwhile, rest of the Pakistan squad travelled to Dublin on Monday.
