Pakistan to initiate Energy Projects with Denmark

Pakistan and Denmark collaborated to start renewable energy projects and made a Joint Technical Working Group (JTWG) on Monday for defining the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for Government-to-Government energy agreements. According to a media report, the JTWG was established during a virtual meeting here at the Power Division, which was co-chaired by Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan and Danish Ambassador to Pakistan Lis Rosenholm.

The delegation resenting Danish presented a report on the Projects associated to technical assistance to pakistan including the clean energy and efficiency sectors, which highlights the importance of energy cooperation between both of the countries.

Federal Minister of Energy Omar Ayub Khan claimed while considering the top position of denmark in clean and green energy on international level that Pakistan wakistan was also working hard promote its vast renewable energy potential. 

He said  that the government had determined to incorporate 25% renewable energy by 2025 and 30% by 2030, with a addition of 45 percent hydel power and 10% nuclear energy in the country’s energy mix.

He also called attention to the importance of working together on projects such as wind turbine and solar panel production, energy waste reduction, and grid transmission capability enhancement.
