This week, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced a significant aid package of Rs100 million ($359,901) for the people of Gaza, amidst escalating casualties and a worsening humanitarian crisis in Palestine. The announcement was confirmed by his aide on information and public relations.

The death toll in Gaza has soared to over 32,000 individuals since October 7, 2023, with a large number of casualties being women and children. Israel’s relentless air and ground military operations in the densely populated territory continue to exacerbate the situation.

Pakistan, alongside several other nations, has been vocal in calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Additionally, Pakistan has urged for Palestinians to be granted unrestricted access to essential resources such as food, medical aid, and other facilities. International organizations have issued warnings regarding the imminent risk of famine and the outbreak of diseases in the region.

In a statement released by Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, the special assistant on information and public relations to Chief Minister Gandapur, it was announced that the aid would soon be provided to the Palestinian ambassador to Pakistan. The funds will be utilized to procure essential items for the people of Gaza.

Dr. Saif emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government stands in solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza during this challenging period. He urged Muslim countries and the international community to step up and assist the people of Palestine in their time of need.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan does not maintain diplomatic relations with Israel. Pakistan has consistently advocated for an independent Palestinian state, based on internationally recognized parameters and the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
