The Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department have initiated the ‘Excise at Your Doorstep’ service in the provincial capital to facilitate citizens with vehicle registration and transfer services at their homes.

Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman inaugurated the ‘Dahleez App’ and ‘E-Registration Card’ during a ceremony held on Friday, attended by Punjab Excise Secretary Masood Mukhtar, Commissioner Lahore Division Muhammad Ali Randhawa, DG Excise Muhammad Ali, and other department officials.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Secretary Punjab emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to enhance governance and service delivery. He highlighted the ongoing digitization efforts within government departments to ensure timely services and combat corruption, citing the launch of the ‘Dahleez App’ and ‘E-Registration Card’ as significant steps toward digitization.

The ‘Excise at Your Doorstep’ service, initially introduced in Lahore, aims to provide citizens with convenient and hassle-free vehicle registration and transfer services directly at their residences. DG Excise Muhammad Ali outlined plans to expand the service’s coverage to encompass the entire province, ensuring broader accessibility.

As part of this new initiative, individuals can make payments conveniently through online banking, streamlining and expediting the registration process. Moreover, vehicle and motorcycle owners will benefit from on-the-spot allocation of registration numbers, further enhancing convenience.

A notable feature of this initiative is the introduction of Pakistan’s first e-title document, the ‘E-Registration Card,’ marking a significant transition toward a paperless and more efficient system for vehicle documentation and management.
