The ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Australia in Perth witnessed an impressive performance by Pakistani pacer Aamer Jamal, who made his debut in the match. Australia was dismissed for 487 in their first innings on the second day, with Jamal claiming a six-wicket haul.

Jamal played a crucial role, taking four out of the five wickets that fell on the second day. He finished with impressive figures of 6 for 111. Another debutant, Khurram Shahzad, also contributed by claiming two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf took one each.

In Australia’s first innings, David Warner top-scored with 164 runs, while Mitchell Marsh scored a quick-fire 90 runs. During the first session on the second day, Australia added 130 runs in 26 overs, reaching 476-7 at lunch, with Mitchell Marsh unbeaten on 90.

In response to Australia’s total, Pakistan will aim to make a strong start with the bat as they face a challenging target in the first Test. The match is part of a three-match series, and Pakistan’s new captain, Shan Masood, faces a tough task, especially with a depleted bowling corps.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat in the first Test. Pakistan handed Test debuts to pacers Aamer Jamal and Khurram Shahzad. The last time Pakistan won a Test in Australia was in late 1995, and they face a formidable Australian side led by Pat Cummins, the reigning world Test champions.
