Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sher Afzal Marwat, was apprehended by a substantial police force outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) as he left the premises following his participation in a lawyers’ convention.

The arrest, carried out under Section 3MPO, led to Marwat being transferred to Mazang police station. This incident comes in the wake of his recent claims of a thwarted “abduction” by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) police while on his way to Gulabad near Chakdara for a PTI convention scheduled in Bajaur.

Earlier, an FIR had been lodged against Sher Afzal Marwat and others for organizing a worker’s convention in Swabi. In October, he faced charges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for allegedly inciting the public against state institutions through social media, with accusations falling under sections 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Notably, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had granted protective bail to Sher Afzal Marwat in two cases registered against him in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa just last month. These developments reflect a series of legal challenges faced by the PTI leader, with accusations ranging from criminal conspiracy to promoting hostility among different groups.
