On Saturday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) dismissed the arrest order issued for Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marriyum Aurangzeb in a hate speech case.

According to the information, the PML-N leader appeared before the ATC in Lahore in a hate speech case, and the court revoked the arrest warrant that had been granted to her at the previous hearing.

The case was postponed by the court until January 6.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) last month issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Marriyum Aurangzeb, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

During a hearing presided over by ATC Judge Abhar Gull, PML-N leader Javed Latif, along with others, faced charges related to incitement. Javed Latif attended the court session, but Marriyum Aurangzeb’s absence led the court to issue a non-bailable arrest warrant for her while canceling the warrant for Javed Latif.

The court instructed Javed Latif and others to appear for the hearing scheduled for December 9, and further proceedings were adjourned.

The hate speech case originated from a press conference held by Javed Latif in Islamabad, leading to the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) at the Green Town police station.

The FIR, lodged on the complaint of Imam Masjid Irshad-ul-Rehman, accused Latif of intentionally inciting people against the PTI chief by making false statements. The complainant alleged that Latif, in consultation with Marriyum Aurangzeb and others, deliberately provoked the public.
