How to get learner driving license from any local Police station

Lahore Traffic Police is embarking on a new era of accessibility for prospective drivers by decentralizing the process of obtaining Learner Driving Licenses. Spearheaded by the Inspector General of Punjab, these licenses will now be available directly from the front desks of police stations, marking a significant departure from the traditional application channels.

This procedural shift, scheduled to commence on December 6, 2023, is strategically designed to streamline the licensing process, providing greater convenience and efficiency for the general public.

However, along with these positive changes, there comes a financial adjustment. The Punjab government has announced an impending increase in license fees for both cars and motorcycles, set to take effect on January 1, 2024.

The official announcement on December 5, 2023, serves as a reminder to act promptly, encouraging individuals to take advantage of the current rates until December 31, 2023.

This policy adjustment aligns with Lahore Traffic Police’s stringent measures against underage and unlicensed drivers. With a staggering 7,000 cases registered against such drivers in just 21 days, and 9,355 unlicensed drivers facing legal consequences within a brief 15-day period, authorities are sending a resounding message about the critical importance of adhering to traffic regulations. These measures collectively underscore a dedicated effort to prioritize road safety and uphold the rule of law on Lahore’s busy streets.
