WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has announced the development of a new feature that will enhance the video call experience. According to reports from WaBetaInfo, the popular messaging app is working on a feature that allows users to share music audio during video calls.

The update, currently in development and submitted through the TestFlight beta Program, will bring the version up to 23.25.10.72. However, it’s important to note that the feature is not yet ready for beta testers.

The upcoming feature aims to create a more immersive and shared audio-visual experience during video calls. When activated, everyone on the call will be able to listen to video and music audio together when a user shares their screen. This enhancement is expected to add a dynamic layer to video calls, making virtual gatherings more interactive.

Users enabling this feature will have the ability to share the audio playing on their device with others on the call. It’s worth mentioning that this feature is not compatible with voice calls or during video calls where video is disabled.

“The ability to share video and music audio in real-time during a screen-sharing session adds a dynamic layer to video calls, making virtual gatherings definitely more interactive,” stated WaBetaInfo.

This upcoming feature is anticipated to provide a sense of connection during video calls with friends and family, especially when using the screen-share option. While the feature is currently under development, it is expected to be available in a future update of the WhatsApp app. Users can look forward to enjoying a more enriched video call experience as this exciting development unfolds.
