Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is scheduled to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The meeting, focusing on bilateral relations and key matters, will involve discussions on strengthening ties in various domains, including economy, trade, investment, culture, defense, and people-to-people contacts.

Both leaders are expected to sign memorandums of understanding (MoUs) covering investment cooperation in energy, port operations, wastewater treatment, food security, logistics, mining, aviation, and banking and financial services. Prime Minister Kakar’s official UAE visit, which began a day earlier, will conclude on November 28 (Tuesday), according to the statement from the PM Office.

Pakistan and the UAE share enduring and warm fraternal ties that have endured various challenges over time. In addition to the bilateral discussions, PM Kakar will lead a delegation to partake in the festivities marking the UAE’s 52nd National Day and the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) in Dubai.

Approximately 90 heads of state, including Pakistan, and 7,000 representatives worldwide are anticipated to participate in the celebrations. The National Day reception in Islamabad, initially planned by the UAE Embassy, has been canceled due to the large-scale festivities in the UAE.

Furthermore, the UN Climate Change Conference of 2023 is scheduled to be held in the UAE from November 30 to December 12. Various programs related to the international climate change conference will continue in the UAE until December 15. Invited by the UAE president, Prime Minister Kakar will lead a high-level Pakistani delegation, including caretaker ministers of trade, climate change, health, and finance, to oversee Pakistan’s participation in the celebrations on December 1 and 2. The premier is expected to engage in meetings with world leaders and representatives of foreign countries during the event.
