Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, expressed his appreciation for the donor organization’s assistance in various development projects throughout the Punjab province. Chairing a joint review committee meeting of Foreign Funded Projects at the Planning and Development Board, CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi discussed the progress of several key initiatives.
The province is currently executing 12 projects, totaling $2,456 million in funding from the World Bank, and another 8 projects, with a total investment of $849 million provided by the Asian Development Bank. During the meeting, CM Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the importance of ensuring these foreign-funded projects are completed on time and within the stipulated budgets.
He also urged the relevant authorities to focus on achieving specific objectives related to transport, environmental conservation, and family planning within the projects. Furthermore, he extended a warm welcome to the collaboration between the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank in these critical areas.
The Country Director of the World Bank commended the Punjab government’s efforts in implementing institutional reforms, highlighting their praiseworthy nature.
Among the various projects being supported, the Punjab Tourism for Economic Growth initiative, backed by the World Bank, is set to be completed, and the World Bank, along with other organizations, continues to support the National Health Program.
These developments demonstrate the commitment of Punjab’s caretaker government to improving the province’s infrastructure and services with the help of international partners and donor organizations.
