Pakistan International Airlines are said to have 12 Boeing 777 planes in its’ fleet with general Electric engines which are considered to be used worldwide and are deemed to be the safest.

On Monday Abdullah Hafeez a spokesman for PIA has said that PIA owns 29 aircrafts 12 of them being Boeing’s 777, 6 ATR planes, and 11 Airbus A320’s.

On Saturday one of Boeing’s 777 landed safely at the Denver International Airport after the deferral of the right engine causing it to catch fire mid-air.

This incident has prompted the company Boeing of its decision to abeyance the use of the 777 planes with Pratt and Whitney engines, from now onwards.

Boeing has stated that the investigation going in the process as they have ardently been observing the recent incidents indicated towards the United Airlines flight UA328.

The International Transportation Safety Board NTSB is going with their separate investigation, although Boeing has said to have recommended the full abeyance of the operations of the 69 in service and 59 in storage 777’s powered by the Pratt and Whitney 4000-112 engines.

Boeing is in full support of the decision of the FAA and the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau.
