iOS 17, Apple’s upcoming operating system, is set to be released in September. However, not all iPhone owners will be able to make use of the exciting new capabilities that come with this upgrade.

If you own an iPhone X from 2017 or an even older model, you may be excluded from the upcoming changes.

  • iPhone 14 (including the Plus variant)

Exclusion from compatibility: what if your iPhone Is not on the list?

iOS 17 will not be supported for people whose iPhones do not meet the aforementioned compatibility requirements. As a result, you will not receive a warning encouraging you to download and install the most recent software iteration.

Importantly, if you own an iPhone X or a previous model, iOS 16 will remain the most recent software update available for your device.
