UAE reduces visa overstay fines: Read fresh regulations for tourists, travelers and residents here

The UAE government has cut visa overstay fines, providing significant relief to people who find it impossible to stick to visa validity durations.

If you overstay your visa, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has stated that you would only have to pay Dh50 per day instead of Dh100; the same punishment applies whether you are a tourist, resident, or traveler.

To avoid punishment, this new rule requires tourists to obey visa restrictions and renew their visas on schedule. The authority’s officials want citizens from other nations who live or visit the UAE to use official specialised websites to make the visa procedure easier.

Applicants can also look out for the service costs for various visa applications on official websites, such as the one run by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and remain up to date on the newest changes.

According to Khaleej Times, applicants can now submit requests for entry permits and visas via the official website, the authority’s smart application, the Dubai Now app, and authorised printing outlets.

Those who are unfamiliar with the online system can visit registered printing offices under the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship or accredited printing offices approved by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, where visa applications and entry permits can still be submitted. Applicants who are granted will receive a confirmation message in addition to the initial entry permission.

The UAE, in general, and Dubai in particular, are attempting to attract tourists, and according to recent developments, a Schengen-style visa is also being considered for the region. According to the data, Dubai will continue to attract businesses, politicians, IT professionals, globetrotters, and people from all walks of life who find the region appealing in terms of chances and lifestyle.
