Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif opened the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) at the Pakistan Air Force Nur Khan Base on Friday.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, greeted the Prime Minister upon his arrival at the Base.
The Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, federal ministers, and high-level civil and military officials were also present.
In his remarks during the opening event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park as a project of national and strategic importance that will help the country on multiple levels.
He went on to say that by providing a platform for the youth and future generations, the NASTP project would spur technical growth and make the country more self-sufficient.
The chief guest lauded the Pakistan Air Force and its professional soldiers for achieving this milestone in record time.
“The NASTP is a highly promising project that will leverage the collective wisdom and contribute to kick-starting Pakistan’s economy to put it on a fast track towards progression,” remarked the prime minister.
The NASTP will foster research, development, and innovation in the fields of aviation, space, cyber, and computing to ensure social, economic, technological, and scientific dividends for Pakistan and its valuable partners.
The project will serve as a milestone to boost the independent economy and would also flourish the unprecedented technological advancements in the country.
