Pakistan Cricket Board clears the air amid reports of Asia Cup 2023 boycott

The Pakistan Cricket Board has replied to allegations that Team Green is considering boycotting the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023.

The PCB denied the reports and stated that the upcoming event will proceed according to the hybrid format recommended by Sethi’s team.

Pakistan maintains its position as Asia Cup host, and the current administration is working hard to ensure a successful event.

The PCB replied to rumors as part of an Indian cricket board disinformation operation. According to recent claims in Indian media, ACC members have rejected Pakistan’s hybrid approach, implying that Pakistan may withdraw from the Asia Cup 2023.

Earlier this week, the Indian news source Press Trust of India stated that India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan would not approve the hybrid format proposed by the PCB, the Asia Cup’s hosts, leaving Pakistan with only two options: compete at a neutral location or withdraw.

According to sources, PCB is now aware that Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are not supporting their hybrid model plan for the Asia Cup, which is completely false.

It should be noted that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has denied a media story suggesting that it has accepted the “hybrid model” offered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the Asia Cup tournament’s staging.

The PCB, on the other hand, has no intention of holding the event outside of Pakistan because doing so would jeopardise its efforts to bring international cricket back to the country.

The BCCI is also unlikely to endorse the hybrid method, which would see four of the group-stage matches played in Pakistan and the other matches played at a neutral venue.

According to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and India, staging the Asia Cup in two countries is neither logistically nor financially feasible.

“Pakistan has only two options.” According to an Asian Cricket Council (ACC) source, either play the tournament at a neutral location or withdraw from the Asia Cup.

”If Pakistan is unable to participate, the event will continue to be called as the Asia Cup, but the terms of the deal will be renegotiated,” they stated.

When Asia Cup will start 2023?

The Asia Cup 2023 is set to take place between September 2 and September 17, 2023, and is billed as a warm-up event for teams ahead of the ODI World Cup later this year.

Who will host Asia Cup 2023?

Pakistan will host this Tournament, likely to begin on September 1, 2023.

Is Pakistan out of Asia Cup 2023?

Despite Indian propaganda, Pakistan decided to participate in the Aisa Cup and devised a hybrid model for the tournament.

Asia Cup 2023 schedule

Asia Cup 2023 schedule has not been announced yet.

In the first phase of the tournament, some matches will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, while the rest of the event will be held at Dubai International Stadium, according to PCB’s Hybrid model.
