Pakistani fast bowler Zaman Khan Pakistan cricket team Director Mickey Arthur praised his bowling ability in the opening game of the upcoming T20 Vitality Blast in the United Kingdom on Monday.

Arthur, who is also the head of cricket at Derbyshire Cricket Club, remarked about the bowler after the Derbyshire Falcons’ first match, which they lost against Lancashire Lightning.

Arthur brought in the Pakistani pacer to bolster the Falcons’ bowling squad in the Blast for Derbyshire.

The spinner joined the Derbyshire squad on Thursday and had only one practice session at Derbyshire’s home ground, Incora County Ground, before taking part in the T20 Blast opener against Lancashire at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Although Zaman had a slow start to the tournament, allowing runs in his opening two overs, he made a good return late in the game. On his first ball, Lancashire’s Luke Wells welcomed the Pakistani pacer with a six over midwicket. In his first over, he gave up 18 runs, including two boundaries and a wide.

The bowler’s second over provided 13 runs, although he did get his maiden wicket on English soil when George Bell was taken at mid-on by Derbyshire skipper Leus du Plooy.

But Arthur anticipated that the right-arm pacer, who has a slinging bowling action and has consistently fired in yorkers at 90 mph, would improve as the tournament progressed.

“He’ll just keep getting better and better.” He possesses the necessary abilities. He delivers a very good fast yorker, a terrific bouncer, and a very good slower ball, and those are the talents we require,” Arthur explained.

Zaman made a good return later in the innings after letting up 31 runs in his first two overs. He was at his best in his final two overs, bowling a combination of quick-paced Yorkers, bouncers, and slower deliveries. The bowler did grab his second wicket of the game when he bowled a superb slower one to Kiwi international Colin de Grandhomme.

Zaman, who is from Azad Jammu Kashmir and comes from a poor background, has continuously demonstrated his talent in recent years. He took 15 wickets in 13 matches for the PSL champions Lahore Qalandars this season.

His incredible success and ability to bowl in death overs when under duress has earned him a spot on Pakistan’s national team this year. In March of this year, he made his debut in a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

“He’ll improve over time because this is his first time in England and in these conditions.” “We just need another week in him and he’ll be ready to go on Friday night,” Arthur predicted.

Zaman will be back in action on Friday, May 26 when Derbyshire Falcons take on Nottinghamshire Outlaws at Trent Bridge Nottingham in an East Midlands Derby match.
