The resignations of 70 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNAs were reversed by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday.

The PTI MNAs, including Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Pervaiz Khattak, and others, contested the NA speaker’s acceptance of their resignations as MNAs.

While declaring the judgment on the PTI lawmakers’ petitions, Justice Shahid Karim annulled the notifications of the Election Commission of Pakistan and National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf regarding the acceptance of resignations.

While ordering Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shafqat Mahmood, Riaz Fatiyani, and others to come before the NA speaker to resign as MNAs, the LHC has urged Speaker Ashraf to make a judgment after hearing from PTI members.

The MPs said in their petitions that the speaker did not listen to their concerns before accepting their resignations.

Previously, the Lahore High Court (LHC) stayed the Election Commission of Pakistan’s announcement de-notifying 43 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNAs.
