PM Shehbaz Sharif urges UAE firms to invest in the renewable energy sector

The United Arab Emirates-based company Hayat Bio-Tech was asked to invest in Pakistan’s renewable energy sector by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He also promised that the government will provide all necessary assistance.

In a meeting with a delegation led by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook al Maktoum, chairman of Hayat Bio-Tech and a member of the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates, the prime minister welcomed Hayat Bio-keen Tech’s interest in investing in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry, particularly in vaccine manufacturing.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by PM Shehbaz, who noted that Pakistan and the UAE had long-standing ties of brotherhood. He emphasised how important it was to Pakistan for its ties with the UAE to continue to grow in all areas, including trade and investment.

According to Prince Ahmed Dalmook al Maktoum, the UAE is eager to continue growing its presence in the energy and health sectors and is aware of Pakistan’s enormous potential as an investment destination. He stated a strong desire to increase the UAE’s Pakistan investment holdings.

The 1200 MW power plant project, which was started in conjunction with the Sindh Government and will be a hybrid power plant using solar and wind energy, was also discussed with the prime minister.

Senior representatives of the relevant government agencies including Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for National Health Services Abdul Qadir Patel, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, also attended the meeting.
