Babar Azam says prefers Big Bash over IPL due to fast pitches

Pakistan’s all-format captain Babar Azam has said he prefers the Big Bash League, Australia’s professional club Twenty20 cricket league, over the Indian Premier League due to the fast pitches that preferred bowlers.

Apart from his 2008 debut season, which happened during a brief political truce between India and Pakistan’s diplomatic opponents, no player from Pakistan has participated in the IPL.

During 2012–2013, the arch-rivals and neighbors Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series.

Azam chose the Australian series in a podcast this week when asked which he liked better: the IPL or the Big Bash.

“The conditions are different, as they say, there are one of the fastest conditions in Australia and you get to learn a lot, it’s good cricket,” Azam said about Big Bash.

In the IPL, he said, you got “Asian conditions” that were better for batting.

Pakistani athletes have recently proven their mettle in the BBL, including Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, and Shadab Khan. Babar hasn’t yet started the series.

5 of the top 13 wicket-takers in T20 history are bowlers from Pakistan. The Pakistan Super League, the nation’s domestic league, has gradually become one of the top tournaments in the globe.

The greatest female cricketers in the world earned hundreds of thousands of dollars for their services in the first Women’s Premier League in India last month, but Pakistan’s players were not included on the auction list.
