According to Syed Amin Ul Haque, minister of information technology and telecommunication, the government’s top priorities are the development of high-quality network facilities and the safeguarding of cellular customers’ rights.
Speaking at the Ministerial Conference of the GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, the minister declared that the government is committed to closing the digital divide between urban and rural areas, noting that connectivity projects worth billions of rupees are currently being implemented in remote locations.
More broadband projects are being worked on, according to Amin Ul Haque, to guarantee the delivery of high-quality telecom services. He claimed that actions are being taken to advance the telecom industry and address the problems facing mobile firms.
According to the minister, digitization is being used to carry out the objective of a “Digital Pakistan.”
