Former premier and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has withdrawn his bail plea in the Lahore High Court (LHC) in the case registered at the Secretariat police station.

The PTI leader appeared before Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in relation to a bail request submitted for bail in another case filed at the Secretariat police station.

The judge was questioned by the PTI leader’s attorney over whether Khan should be called to the podium or not. There is no need to move him to the rostrum, the judge said.

Imran Khan informed the judge that the bail petition was unheard of by him. He continued by saying that after learning about the petition, he urged Azhar Siddiq to allow him to present in court.

Imran Khan apologized to the judge of the LHC for wasting the court’s precious time. Finally, the PTI leader’s attorney retracted the bail request.

Imran Khan withdrew his bail petition, and the LHC adjourned the case.

In a complaint filed at the Sangjani police station, Imran Khan previously obtained protective bail from the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Judge Ali Baqar Najafi presided over a two-member LHC bench that considered Khan’s request for protective bail in relation to a case that was filed at the Sangjani police station.

Afterward, the PTI chairman arrived in a wheelchair in the courtroom to appear in the hearing.

Imran Khan informed the bench during the hearing that his injured leg is still not totally recovered. He claimed that any shock would delay his recovery for three more months due to his fractured leg.

He sought two weeks from the court as his X-ray will be conducted on February 28. The LHC bench approved the protective bail of Imran Khan till March 3.
