Dubai Plans to Launch Flying Taxis by 2026

As Dubai relaunches plans for flying taxis by 2026, the city’s skyline is likely to transform once more. Since 2017, the United Arab Emirates’ capital has claimed that flying taxi services will launch.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, tweeted about the relaunch initiative on Monday. At the World Government Summit, Dubai raised interest in a flying taxi produced by Joby Aviation in California.

Oliver Walker-Jones, a spokesman for Joby Aviation, said, “We’re enthused about the possibilities and actively researching the possibility.

Since “we haven’t yet signed with any partners,” according to Ahmed Bahrozyan of the Roads and Transport Authority, “it is still early days” for the proposal.

According to Mr. Bahrozyan, the cost of a flying taxi “will be in the range of a limousine service in Dubai, possibly somewhat higher.” The cost of limo services is 30% more expensive than that of a taxi, with a minimum charge of about $3.25 (£2.68).
