Shahid Afridi, a former captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, has shared his opinions on the possibility of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim, two of the sport’s most well-known figures in the nation, rejoining the national team.
Afridi recently stated in an interview with a local news outlet that both players might establish themselves if they have outstanding performances in the forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Following the recent shift in management at the Pakistan Cricket Board, Amir, who retired from international cricket in 2020 after accusing the team management of torturing him mentally, has been the subject of rumors that he would reconsider his decision. Imad Wasim has also been playing in T20 tournaments around the world and has been the focus of rumors about a potential return to the national team.
The PSL, according to Afridi, will be the ideal venue for both players to make their comebacks, but it also depends on how they approach the situation and whether they have any specific objectives in mind for the competition.
“If you have any objectives in mind for the PSL, I think that would rely on your mindset. It depends on whether you want to compare yourself to people like Shaheen, Haris, and Naseem or remain average,” he remarked. “Mohammad Amir and Imad have both played cricket for a while. If given the chance, they both would like to perform. I believe the PSL is the venue on which you may make a return.
