Nida Dar achieves career-high ODI ranking

Following the most recent update by the International Cricket Council, Nida Dar of Pakistan has moved up to position nine in the ODI all-rounder rankings, with a top career rating of 225.

Dar accomplished the feat with a valiant half-century in the opening One-Day International against Australia on Monday in Brisbane. With the help of five fours and a six, she managed to score 59 runs in 88 balls.

“Dar’s efforts may not have been enough in the first ODI to overcome the hosts, who cruised to an eight-wicket win in Brisbane, but the 36-year-old showed why she remains as the only Pakistan women’s player to sit in a top-ten spot across the three ODI ranking classifications,” the ICC said in a press release.

Ellyse Perry of Australia has fallen to second place in the rankings for ODI all-rounders, but the next two matches against Pakistan could help her reclaim the top spot. Perry faced just two deliveries and bowled just three overs in his match against Pakistan, finishing 2 not out.

“Young-gun Litchfield enters the batting rankings at 107th, with compatriot Alyssa Healy (777) holding the top spot in spite of a calf injury keeping her out of the ongoing series. South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (732) and Nat Sciver (731) move to second and third respectively, as Beth Mooney’s early dismissal on Monday brought her down two spots (730),” the press release added.

“On the bowling side, there was little movement to the rankings top-ten, with Megan Schutt’s slide down to fourth (712) the only change. Diana Baig’s 1-21 resulted in a four-spot move up to 24th (489), with Fatima Sana moving seven places to 32nd.”
