On Saturday, the first day of the third and final Test at the National Stadium in Karachi, Pakistani captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat against England.

After winning the first game by 74 runs in Rawalpindi and the second by 26 in Multan, England, on their first Test tour to Pakistan since 2005, is currently ahead 2-0 in the series.

In place of James Anderson and Will Jacks, the tourists replaced them with Ben Foakes, the wicketkeeper, and Rehan Ahmed, the batsman.

Rehan surpasses Brian Close’s 1949 record of 18 years and 149 days to make his England debut at the age of 18 years and 126 days.

“Very exciting times for himself, his family and for English cricket as well,” Ben Stokes said about the new player.

Senior Pakistan batter Azhar Ali, who on Friday announced the Karachi Test would be his last, is one of four changes in the home side.

Imam-ul-Haq (injured), Mohammad Nawaz, Zahid Mahmood, and Mohammad Ali were left out, while Shan Masood, Mohammad Wasim Junior, and Nauman Ali were also added.

Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, declared after the toss that his team will strive to score and put pressure on the other team.

In place of James Anderson and Will Jacks, the tourists replaced them with Ben Foakes, the wicketkeeper, and Rehan Ahmed, the batsman.

Rehan, at 18 years and 126 days, becomes the youngest player to debut for England, beating Brian Close’s record of 18 years and 149 days set in 1949.
