The 11th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2022, which will feature innovations and advancements in “arms for peace,” will open in Pakistan the following week.

At the four-day event, 500 exhibitors from 64 nations will take part in a variety of events, including watching top-notch modern defence technology demonstrations and attending international seminars.

Brigadier Naveed Azam Cheema thanked the GHQ and the federal, provincial, and local governments for their support of the event during a curtain-raiser news conference.

The exhibition brought together the latest technology advancements from the global defence industries. This year’s defence exhibition also includes Washington and Moscow as exhibitors, and Austria, Romania, and Hungary are taking part for the first time.

Despite not participating as an exhibitor this year, Kremlin will still be represented by a delegation.

Cheema continued by saying that in terms of space, bookings, exhibitors, and delegates from both home and abroad, this year’s event exceeded earlier standards. He continued by stating that the Karachi Expo Center was fully filled.

According to Brigadier Naveed, IDEAS 2022 portrays South Asia as a contemporary, forward-thinking, and pro-peace country.

Beijing and Ankara are both participating to capacity, and Turkish enterprises have reserved two entire rooms to display their products, compared to one hall for China.

An international symposium titled “Artificial Intelligence in the Defence Market: A Paradigm Shift in Military Strategy and National Security” will take place after the formal inauguration event.

The Ministry of Pakistan Postal Services has also released an Rs. 20 commemorative postal stamps to mark this year’s defence exhibition. The important occasion had already been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
