The Guinness Book of World Records 2023 has given Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif recognition for climbing K2 and Everest.

The two tallest mountains in the world, Everest (8,849 meters high) and K2 (8,611 meters high) were climbed by 19-year-old Kashif, better known as Broad Boy, in 2021. It should be noted that Kashif was also listed in the 2021 Guinness Book of World Records.

“Alhumdulilah! I have been published in the Guinness book of world records 2023!” Kashif tweeted. “My achievement of being the youngest in the world to climb the world’s tallest peaks Everest and K2 has been recognized,” he added. “Thank you #GWR #TheKarakoramclub and my family and followers.”

After climbing the 11th-tallest peak in the world, Gasherbrum-1, in August of this year, Kashif also made history by being the youngest climber to reach the top of 10 peaks over 8,000 meters.

Shehroze summited Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu in Nepal earlier this year in a space of less than a month before climbing Nanga Parbat.

This year, when descending from Nanga Parbat, he and partner Fazal Ali became stranded in severe weather and lost contact at one point, but both displayed steel nerves by making it through the night on the mountain and then making their own way to Camp 1.

“As we were descending from the summit, I did not understand where to go because there were no ropes fixed there,” Kashif revealed after being rescued.

“We did not think that we will even wake up, that this is all the life there was to live.

“When I woke the next morning, I thought it was a miracle.”

The incident, though, didn’t dent Shehroze’s confidence and he immediately returned to the mountains to scale G-1 and G-2 in the span of five days.
