Good news for Karachi residents who commute every day is that Peoples Bus Service will operate between Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Tower.

The Gulshan-e-Hadeed passengers were previously required to first travel to Malir Cantt since the lengthy route had previously been split into two. They were to catch a brand-new bus from Malir Cantt to Tower.

Sharjeel Inam Memon, the transport minister for Sindh, presided over a meeting on Wednesday. The Peoples Bus Service will start running directly from Gulshan-e-Hadid to Tower on Monday instead of via Shahra-e-Faisal, it was decided.

According to the minister, the route was altered in response to requests from Gulshan-e-Hadid locals.

In addition, Memon stated that starting on September 29, there will be 30 buses operating on the Khokhrapar-Tower route.

He claimed that there is a growing need for the bus service. As a result of several complaints, he said, “We must continue to improve the service with overloading being prohibited.”

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority was told to put together a monitoring team by the transport minister. According to him, the team would be required to report on a variety of problems, such as overloading and buses leaving on time.

The meeting also reviewed the operations of the Peoples Bus Service in Larkana. The minister directed the MD Mass Transit Authority to liaise with the Larkana district administration on a daily basis to resolve the problems faced by the routes.
