Saudi Arabia is home to about 2.5 million skilled professionals from Pakistan. The Gulf state has started a Skill Verification Program in Pakistan in order to further increase its human resource output from that country.
With this, Pakistan has become the first nation to gain from the program’s recent introduction. The effort will reportedly involve opening about a dozen test centers throughout Pakistan. For the purpose of preparing skilled employees for employment in Saudi Arabia, these centers will provide written and practical tests.
Director-General (DG) of the Skill Verification Program, Saad Aiqil, commented on this matter by saying that Pakistan’s selection as the program’s initial beneficiary is evidence of the close links of brotherhood that exist between the two nations.
Part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 is the most recent action. The Middle Eastern country declared as part of the initiative that it would do away with the 70-year-old Kafala system in 2019.
With the end of the Kafala system, foreign employees now have the freedom to leave Saudi Arabia and change occupations without first receiving authorization from their employers.
