Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will send delegations to Brussels in Belgium from 11 to 13 September to discuss the resumption of PIA’s flight operations to the US and the EU.
The Federal Minister for Aviation, Khawaja Saad Rafique, was informed by PIA management that Khaqan Murtaza, the Director General (DG) CAA, and Nadir Shafi Dar, the Deputy DG CAA, will lead the first team.
This July, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) prohibited PIA from running flights to EU nations.
According to a spokesperson for the national flag carrier, the second delegation, which will include representatives from the PIA and the Ministry of Aviation, will travel to the US in the first few days of September to hold talks about issues related to aviation security, safety, and operational issues.
The third team will travel to the UK in the meantime to secure slots at London’s Heathrow Airport and won’t leave until that task is completed.
