The new information was released immediately after the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday issued a red alert for a significant flood in the Kabul River at Nowshera.

According to the PMD alert, the water level in the Kabul River is expected to rise to 300,000 cusecs, which might cause a “very high and above level” flood in Nowshera over the next 48 hours.
