The long-standing, fraternal connections between Pakistan and Qatar, which are grounded in a shared history and ambitions for socioeconomic growth, are extremely important to Pakistan, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He was speaking to a group from the Qatar Business Association that had come to see him in Doha on Wednesday and was being led by its chairman, H.E. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani.

In order to turn the two nations’ close political connections into a robust and extensive economic relationship, the prime minister underlined the government’s commitment to deepening and widening diverse engagement with Qatar.

He praised Qatar’s quick economic development and progress and noted the Amir of Qatar’s astute leadership. He also recognized the importance of the Qatar Business Association in fostering Qatar’s private sector.

The Prime Minister emphasized the value of creating a variety of economic partnerships while highlighting the vast business and investment opportunities provided by Pakistan’s energy sector, which includes renewables, food security, the development of infrastructure and industries, information technology, tourism, and hospitality.

The Prime Minister also informed the leaders of the Qatari business community of the strict structural and policy reforms being implemented by the Pakistani government to enhance and modernize the business environment in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister highlighted the crucial role of the private sectors of the two nations in maintaining the pace for using the potential in the economic area when commenting on the increasing trajectory in Pakistan-Qatar bilateral relations. He placed a lot of emphasis on establishing business ties between the two nations.

H.E. Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al-Thani spoke at the event and recalled his long affiliation with Pakistan while expressing the Association’s intention to further develop commercial ties with that country. In this context, he informed the Prime Minister that he would shortly dispatch a representative technical level QBA mission to Pakistan to investigate potential areas of cooperation. Along with top members of the Association, he also accepted the invitation from the Prime Minister to travel to Pakistan.

Senior authorities and important Cabinet members attended the meeting.
