At the Faisalabad International Airport on Thursday, representatives of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) handed a female passenger a bag containing items valued Rs. 2 million.

The female traveller, Alina, reportedly left her bag behind in a hurry after arriving from Dubai at the Faisalabad airport on Wednesday. The bag reportedly included stuff valued at Rs. 2 million.

An expensive laptop, an iPhone, foreign cash, and other valuables were contained in the bag.

The unattended backpack was taken by CAA officials following a thorough scanning and security check. When she later went to the airport for its search, the officials returned the bag to its rightful owner.

In other news, Khawaja Saad Rafique, the minister of aviation, assured the Senate that the performance of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) will be improved by the addition of a new plane to its fleet.

He also said that there were no intentions to sell up the national airline’s assets and that the government was working to operationalize the Hotel Roosevelt, a PIA property in New York, which has about 300 rooms, this year.

He added, “We want to enter into a joint venture for the complete revival of this hotel which will help bring revenue to the country”.
