The Alpine Club of Pakistan reported that Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif on Monday became the world’s youngest climber to summit Pakistan’s Gasherbrum II peak.

The thirteenth-highest peak in the world, Gasherbrum II, is situated in Pakistan’s northern Gilgit-Baltistan area and is more than 8,000 meters above sea level. In July 2021, Kashif, 20, became the world’s youngest mountaineer when he ascended K2, the second-highest mountain in the world, at the age of 19.

Shehroze Kashif, who is 20 years old, reached the summit of the 13th-highest peak in the world, Gasherbrum II, at 9 a.m. Pakistan Standard Time, according to Karrar Haidri, secretary of the Alpine Club of Pakistan.

He said, “The Broad Boy [Kashif] has scaled Gasherbrum II, becoming the world’s youngest mountaineer.

Kashif also acknowledged his success on Twitter.

Alhamdulillah, today at 9 a.m. PST, #ShehrozeKashif has summited Gasherbrum II 8035m – 13th highest peak of the world.

Congrats Pakistan 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰

On August 6, 2022, Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif began his ascent of Gasherbrum-II, the thirteenth-highest peak in the world.

Shehroze has filed nine 8000ers—a phrase used to denote mountains that rise above 8,000 meters—with his most recent successful expedition.

According to the Alpine Club of Pakistan, a record 87 climbers from Asia and Western nations reached the summit of K2 last month during the summer climbing season.
