The Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman, Ramiz Raja, today announced that the Board of Governors has approved a Rs. 15 billion budget for the PCB for the upcoming fiscal year.
Ramiz Raja detailed that around 78% of the allocated budget will be utilized towards the cricketing activities in the country, with a majority of funds being used towards upgrading the stadiums and improving the infrastructure in the country.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB’s) top priority is to upgrade stadiums in the country, as Pakistan is set to host next year’s Asia Cup and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
Ramiz said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management has already upgraded seating in two stadiums, and they are also set to replace lights at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The former national team captain went on to say that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) must provide the best facilities to national team players, and investing in players and the future of Pakistan cricket should be its main goal.
Ramiz noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is in a strong financial position and their number one priority is to promote the game of cricket and provide opportunities for young players to excel.
He went on to say that part of this goal is to increase the match fees for national players and non-playing staff.
