The Prime Minister has issued instructions for immediate action in response to the forecast of heavy rainfall in the last week of this month.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, he has directed the concerned ministries and departments to alert the provinces and district administrations.
The Prime Minister has said that arrangements should be made now in low-lying areas and steps should be taken for precautionary security arrangements and availability of relief equipment.
In this regard, the Prime Minister has asked for a comprehensive strategy to be formulated through joint action of the federation and provinces.
The Prime Minister has also directed for measures to be taken to protect crops.
