US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar meets President Alvi

President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed the hope that constructive exchanges between Pakistan and the United States of America will lead to regional peace and development.

At Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Wednesday, he was speaking with US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who had visited him. He emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s long-standing relationship with the United States. He stressed the need of strengthening bilateral relations in a variety of areas for the mutual benefit of the two countries.

The president welcomed the US Congresswoman and emphasized the significance of bilateral engagement to increase understanding between the two countries.

He informed the visiting dignitary about the horrors perpetrated by Modi’s government against minorities, especially Muslims.

He said that India was involved in the extermination of Muslims and had violated their human rights.

President Alvi further emphasized Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace as well as its sacrifices in the war against terror.

Ilhan Omar, a US congresswoman, stated that both nations have enormous potential to enhance and strengthen their relations. She praised Pakistan’s efforts to combat Islamophobia, including its contribution to the adoption of a UN resolution on the subject.
