During Ramadan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that the Metro bus service would be free for commuters. He made the statement during a project inspection earlier in the day on Thursday.

Officials from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the National Highway Authority (NHA) briefed him on the project, and he stated that Rs. 16 billion has been spent on it, and the delay is disappointing. The premier has directed the establishment of a committee to look into the delay.

He was also informed that the Metro bus service from Peshawar Morr to New Islamabad International Airport would begin in part on Saturday, April 16th, once the Punjab Metro Bus Authority receives fifteen buses, and that the buses for this project will be ready by May 5th.

PM Sharif further stated that passengers should be able to carry luggage on the Metro bus service, and he ordered the construction of a Metro bus stop on the motorway.

The Prime Minister also requested that feasibility assessments for the Bhara Kahu and Rawat routes be completed as soon as possible. She went on to say that the prime minister has emphasized high-quality transportation for residents of Islamabad and the nearby region.
