Mohammad Rizwan managed to make another world record during the game against West Indies. His knock of 87 runs saw him surpass the 2000 run mark in T20 format for the year 2021. He is the only player in the history of cricket who has reached the 2000 run mark in a single calendar year.

Rizwan’s records in T20Is:
– most T20I runs in a calendar year.
– most T20I sixes in a calendar year.
– most T20I fours in a calendar year.
– the first player to score 2000 T20 runs in a calendar year.
– most 100 partnerships in T20Is. 6, with Babar Azam.

Another highlight from the game was Shahnawaz Dahani, a young pace prodigy, who took his first-ever international wicket in Pakistan in the final T20I encounter against the West Indies. He was able to dismiss Sharmarh Brooks, who only needed a single run to complete his half-century.

Even though he managed to get just a single wicket, but he was by far the standout bowler for Pakistan. With his sheer pace, he only conceded 23 runs in 4 overs, which restricted the West Indies total score which was already quite high.

ODI series postponed

The ODI series between West Indies and Pakistan, which was scheduled to take place in Karachi, has been postponed now since five new covid-19 cases emerged in the West Indies camp, which brought the total number of cases to 9.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer clarified that the ODI series between Pakistan and the West Indies has been postponed until June 2022, in consideration of the West Indies players’ welfare and mental health.

He further claimed that the West Indies squad is returning to their home country with a positive attitude and they were totally satisfied with the security arrangements, accommodation, and bio-secure bubble which was never breached during the series.

“We can’t say firmly where the players caught the virus but it seems that they caught it somewhere during travel, maybe during the transit at Dubai,” he said.

He continued by assuring the cricket fans that “There should be absolutely no impact on Australia’s Pakistan tour.”

The series against Australia will go as planned and the whole West Indies coronavirus camp outbreak will have no negative impact on Australia’s tour.He continued that the Australian security experts arrived in Pakistan a few days ago, “and saw everything that was in place for the West Indies series, and I hope they returned satisfied.”
