International Cricket Council has nominated 3 players for October’s ICC player of the month and public voting is open on their website.

ICC has nominated 3 players that gave the best performance in October’s world cup matches; Nominee A is Shakib-ul-hassan from Bangladesh cricket team, Nominee B is Asif Ali from Pakistan Cricket team and Nominee C is Divid Weise from Namibia Cricket team.

Nominee A: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan equaled former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi’s record for most wickets in T20 World Cup. He picked up four wickets with the ball to match Afridi’s tally of 39 wickets against Oman. Shakib made 46 runs off 28 balls in Bangladesh’s impressive total of 181-7.

Nominee B: Pakistan recently played four intense T20 matches and emerged victorious against teams that put up a great fight. Two of those wins, against New Zealand and Afghanistan, were credited to the stellar performance of Asif Ali in the final overs. He scored 27 runs off 12 balls to help take Pakistan to victory over New Zealand. He went even more berserk against Afghanistan. Striding to the crease with 26 off 18 balls required for victory. On strike in the 19th over, with 24 needed from 12 balls at what appeared to be a pretty daunting run rate of 12 an over, Asif was still confident. Unwilling to see things go into the final over, he smashed 4 clean sixes off the bowling of Karim Janat to get his side over the line in some style with six balls to spare.

Nominee C: David Wiese smashed 5 sixes in an unbeaten 66 off 40 balls as Namibia overcame a mid-innings stutter to overhaul a target of 165 with 6 wickets and 6 balls to spare against Netherlands, leading Namibia to its first win their first match in the world cup.
